The national awards program recognizes registered communities.

The national awards program recognizes registered communities for participation in the National Night Out campaign. You’ll be competing with communities of similar population across the nation. Be sure to read through the guidelines and resources available in your Guide and Organizational Kit (available following registration for National Night Out). Scroll down to view the preliminary requirements for participation and how to get started.

Step One

Register for National Night Out this year.

Registration is free and required each year. Once registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email with more information and resources regarding National Night Out, including what steps to take next. Please be sure to read through this email, thoroughly.

Step Two

Become a member  of our organization.

Membership costs $35 per year. Once submitted, please allow 1-2 business days for your request to be processed. You’ll be provided a membership number once payment is processed.

Step Three

Enter the national awards program.

Once entered, please be sure to read through the annual guide and coordinator toolkit included in your confirmation email following registration for National Night Out. This document provides you with the necessary information, resources, guidelines, deadlines and more.

How do we enter the awards program?

What do we get if we are recognized as an award winner in a particular category?

The top ranked area in select categories receive the National Night Out Cup. All succeeding, nationally ranked areas in select categories receive a plaque of recognition. Entries within a particular category that contain no numerical rankings will receive a plaque of recognition.

How do we request another copy of the yellow post-project report form?

Your post-project report form is included in Update #2, mailed to all registered National Night Out coordinators by late-July. To request a duplicate copy, please send us a message via the Contact page.

When are the award winners for a particular year released?

Our team begins to evaluate all entries following the submission deadline. The award winners will be posted online by early-December. Be sure to check our website regularly beginning late-November.
